Ramblings

I have no idea what to talk about but I just want to update.

I'm really bored at home with nothing to do. To be honest, I'm sick of going online, I'm sick of TVs, I'm sick of playing PC games... and I think I'm really sick because I didn't sleep well last night. Having a slight headache now.

I wanted to go out. I did go out yesterday. With Azee. The reason we told our dad was that we wanted to find food... I was so hungry. Haha. Things are so different now. Last time, I can just holler "I'm going out, Daddy! Be back in a few hours!" and he wouldn't even budge from wherever he was.

But now, he'll call if I'm late. He RARELY calls me. I don't think he likes talking to me. But now I think he has my number on SpeedDial. When he calls, he'll be upset and angry. I have no idea which alien abducted him and replaced him with Very Much More Strict and Worried Dad. Maybe it's the New Year. His new resolution or something. I feel terrified for going out. I actually feel reluctant going anywhere.

Sucks. I miss Miri. Maybe I'll go back earlier.

Jasmine... Siap awak. Call me a toad again...

P.S: A cute guy viewed my profile! Wahh.. Flattered wei. So cute, you know! Very lah the fair and tall also. A cute, Chinese guy. Whahaha! Cair laa.. =P I want to add him in my friend list lah.

Wait. Erm. I have a boyfriend. I FORGOT lah. Whahaha....

Christmas celebration

Yes, I don't celebrate it. But who cares. Tis the season to be jolly! Fa la la la.... Erm.

On December 24th, Rasyiq and I went to Wing's at Travillion Mall. Syiq asked me to play pool with him. I LOST! Is that so surprising? Hmph.

Ing Hui texted me at 6 pm telling me that she's taking the rest of the night off. Am I free that night? I was amused.

The thing was, Ing Hui passed out that afternoon. Heat stroke. She was admitted into Tabuan's General Hospital. Renee cried a river, I heard. But Ing Hui's actually very fine. Even joked about the handsome Indian doctor that inspected her. How very typical of her. =)

I told her I'm with Syiq at Wing's. She asked me if I want to go to MNG with her. Then after that, we can partay!

So Syiq and I drove to her hotel to pick her up. But apparently, her boss 'decided to prolong his stay a bit'. So she decided to take the taxi to town instead. While Syiq and I went to hang out at his house.

We were delayed in meeting up with Ing Hui. But she didn't seem to mind. She spent RM400 that night. Blame MNG and Channel... She would have spent more if not for Syiq successfully steering her away from all the cosmetics.

We walked all the way to Oriental Passion. Ate dinner there and actually managed to finish everything. Well, Syiq finished our food because he is such a pig. But an adorable pig, nevertheless. =)

Hamidah called me up, asking where I was. They want to meet up with us. They as in Hamidah, Anisa, Farah, a friend of Farah's which I have forgotten the name, Sue and her brother, whose name I cannot recall right now (actually I don't know how to spell his name). I wasn't that keen in meeting Sue. FYI, she's Rasyiq's EX GIRLFRIEND. I felt that I had to capitalise that.

When Hamidah, Farah and Anisa saw me, they ran and screamed like a bunch of monkeys they are. After screaming in my ear as if I'm deaf and hugging me to death, we all settled down. I was so excited to see them, especially Anisa. Sitting on the same table with Syiq's ex turned out to be not awkward at all! I even let her sipped my JD with coke later that night. See, perfectly comfortable with her. Erm, yeah.

My mum messaged me for the tenth time that night, asking me where I was and when will I be back. I was a bit annoyed and frustrated. So I asked Anisa to talk to my mum. She then told my mum that I'm sleeping over her house. Yes! No curfew! Whahahaha! Yes, yes. Pathetic. Wait till I get back to Miri...

Renee and Charlene, her childhood friend, picked Ing Hui and I up. We went back to Ing Hui's hotel to change and get ready for our night out. Just like we used to do when we're in Miri. =)

At around 12.30 AM, we arrived at Travillion. I met up with Syiq there. When Hamidah, Farah and Anisa saw me, they once again came charging towards me, screaming in my ear "O my GOD!! Khairunnisa you look so hot!"

Whahaha. Thank you, thank you. =P

So anyways, we were chilling at BarZing!. Ing Hui had a friend who had book a table inside. Goodness, the DJ suck so bad. And it's no wonder. I saw this Chinese man in his 50s handling the turntable. The music was so bad. Who in their right mind put Ashless Simpson's Boyfriend or Queen's We Will Rock You in a bar/club?? WHO? Only that guy la! Hish. And he kept on talking on the microphone again. Who wants to hear his voice?! Renee, Ing Hui, Sue and I kept giving tortured looks. Make me wish for Cbell only. At least he mix the music. I miss Balcony and Cheeries Berries.

Nevertheless, we took nice pictures there.

I love this picture!

Renee was that bored.

It was so horrible, we decided to cabut and go to Grappa instead, where Aman was. But the music there sucked too. Haih. So lazy to describe. Memang teruk lah.

At 3.30 AM, Syiq and I went to Satok because Syiq's hungry again. God, where in the world he puts everything? Sayang, you eat banyak sangat lah! After a lot of scolding telling him to hurry and finish his mee kolok, we went back to his place. For shisha! Weeeee!

I got into big trouble with my dad the next morning. But that's okay. I don't regret it. Love you, sayang! =)

P.S: For you cheeky minded people, nothing happened that night, I swear! I didn't even get tipsy. Hmph.

Movie and accident

Two days ago, I went out with Rasyiq. We wanted to go watch King Kong. We were hanging out at Wing's Cafe at Travillion Mall because we have an hour till our movie starts. When we got into the car, our movie starts in 10 minutes, someone called Syiq up.

The conversation goes something like this:

Syiq: You WHAT?! .... HAHA! ... You are SO dead! ... Where are you now? ... You idiot. ... Yeah, I'll be there ...

Turns out that Rafie got into a car accident near Tabuan.

When we got there, we saw him with his girlfriend standing at the bus stop. It was drizzling. Syiq got out of the car to check the poor BMW convertible. The gf went inside our car. Her face was pale and she didn't talk much. Must be still in shock. But both of them are fine.

I asked Rafie what happened.

Rafie: I was cornering at that junction there -points at junction- and I hit a puddle of water. I started to skid and spin.

Me: -gasp- How fast were you going??

Rafie: I'm not sure.

(He's not sure?!)

Rafie: As fast as you guys were just now I think. Maybe like a hundred or maybe less than that...

(Is this guy crazy?! And we didn't corner as fast as he thought we did. Ish)

Rafie: And the ironic thing is, I was explaining to her (referring to gf) how dangerous it is to speed when it is raining...

All I can do is gap at him.

Look at what he did to the poor car. A BMW convertible, okay?? They told me the axle however you spell it and whatever that thing is broke or something. Eh, no idea lah. Nor do I care.

We went to the movie, nevertheless even though we're 45 minutes late. But we found out we didn't miss anything. When we entered, they were still on the boat! Frigging long movie... But King Kong is so adorable!

Abang Iman's Wedding

Seems like we all have weddings to attend to this month.

Well, I don't want to be left out so I'm blogging about it here. My first cousin, Abang Iman was married last Saturday.

Actually, on the same day, my other first cousin, Abang Khairul, had a wedding too but I wasn't INVITED!!! Grr... It's not fair. My own cousin... The reason my parents gave me: It's too formal lah! All of my other cousins' parents told them the same thing. Grr... All that free, good hotel food... And the chance to dress up... Haih.

Ahem. So anyways...

I was to bring the rice and egg thingy. So we had to rehearse it the night before the wedding. But it was sort of choatic when we started because my two little, little cousins, who were to bring that... erm flowery thingy that you hold up? (I have no idea what it's called. In Malay or in English. I'll show them to you later in the entry.) had no idea where to go or what to do. Their attention span is so short.

My adorable cousins. Sharip (left) is 3 years old and Adam (right) is 7. I think. See? Supposed to rehearse but sempat take picture again...

Fast forward to Saturday...!

So, the big day arrived!

Like vain people we are, Azee and I took pictures when we're all done with the makeup.

That's the flowery thingy that they're supposed to hold. Thank God they're light because I was so worried that Sharip would fall.

Azee and my cousin, Aishah. They're both are taller than me... -goes off to choke them-

My brothers and a few of my cousins were to baca khatam today. Have no idea how to translate that to English.

They all looked so elegant than they're used to so I had to take pictures with them!

But naturally, they weren't too keen in taking pictures. What do I have to do to make them smile in pictures?!

All eleven of them on the pelamin.

So lazy to put names so I just bunch all of them together: Sisters and cousins!

Sharip is too cute I had to have pictures with him!

I only have like two pictures of the bride and groom because I was too busy eating. It's all so very simple.

On MY wedding day, I want to break most of the traditions! Instead of boring traditional music or kompang with annoying kids yelling what they believe to be singing, I'll play rock songs! Hmmm... come to think of it, some rock songs have some kids yelling too. Maybe I'll just play Mariah Carey then. I'll have lots and lots of pretty flowers everywhere especially my favourite roses and daisies everywhere! WeeEEee!

And I'll be sure that all my cousins are invited. I'll invite my friends from my Friendster list and people in my PhoneBook because I don't want to go "Who the hell is that?" too often on my big day. Weddings tend to be attended by our parents friends and family. I don't want to go around and say "Oh. Who are you again?" or "Ma, who is that? Your long lost friend from kindergarten ka?" or "Wait. How are we related again?"

I want MY friends to attend MY wedding so that I can GLOAT over them because I would be the PRETTIEST there. =)

KL trip

So we went to Aquaria.

It is pretty expensive to get in. For adults, you have to pay RM38. But if you have MyKad, it's RM28.

Stepping inside, you can see black stony floor. It was quite dark but you can see that it is a world class aquarium.

After paying for the tickets and now officially entering Aquaria, you can read facts and history of our amphibian friends from flat screens and also on the walls.

You can also see colourful display of erm.. colour thingies.

It changes colours every second so it is actually quite pretty. Doesn't serve any purpose except that it's pretty and lights our way.

One of the first few displays. I am so sorry but I didn't have paper with me so I couldn't take notes of the types and names of the creatures. But I bet you guys don't care anyway.

So we now enter the rainforest section which is called

Jewels of the Jungle

A big-ass lizard

A huge-ass toad. This amphibian is bigger than your fist!

And this is one of the dart poison frog. After some research, I found out that the species above is specifically called the Yellow-banded Poison Frog.

What are the differences of frogs and toads, I hear you ask? Clickity here for more information.

This snake is called the Green Snake for obvious reason. I think they're beautiful. I took a couple more pictures of them because they are so graceful but I don't want Jasmine to freak out. There's more snake pictures anyway. ;)

If you can't see from the sign, this is the Veiled Chameleon.

I was freaking out the whole time taking this picture of this huge tarantula. There's another one, a different species but the picture is blurry and I am NOT going to put anymore pictures of stupid arachnids, especially of stupid spiders...

Next, we moved on to

The Flooded Forest

This is the famous flooded forest tube tank. It's 5.3 metre high. I wish I have one like this in my house... It'll be the highlight of my house and I can charge people gazillion ringgit just to see it.

Close up of the fishies in the tank. They look like the ones your mum always cook for a meal, right?

This is an Arapaima. They are big and they are long. How long?

Well the ones in this tank are probably as long as 5 feet or more... And I'm only 5 feet 3 inches!

Fishy and snakey living peacefully together.

This tank features the coral reef and the creatures that are commonly found there. Yep, you can see a Nemo and a Dory here. And every tank that has a clownfish in it, some random annoying kids will scream "NEMO, Mummy! Come look! I found Nemo!! NEMO, MUMMYYY!!!"

Yes, like o my god. It's FREAKING Nemo. Faint. Blush. Swoon. Why don't you ask for an autograph while you're wailing?

Ahem. It's just that they crowd the glasses and I can't take proper pictures or good look of the display and all. Hmph.

Now we've come to my favourite part. Because I took amazingly beautiful pictures here.

Welcome to

The Living Ocean

This is a Sand Shark.

I don't know what species of shark this is. But it's scary looking with it's mouth gaping.

These pictures below are the few pictures that I took that made me think "Definitely for my desktop background!"

Look so ethereal, kan? Feels like you're in the Little Mermaid Disney movie... -smile wistfully-

Ok, so many other pictures of more fish and eels and sea horsey but I'm getting sick of bluish pics. Moving on.

Went and spent money on their Aquaria gift shop. Fast forward.

Outside near KLCC

With youngest brother

So, this is the end of my entry. Finally. Finished it. Say good bye to once the tallest building in the world.

Good bye to hot, humid, polluted, freaking-hard-to-breath KL air!

I'm glad to be back home. Kuching... Like they said "A place like no other..." I was getting sick of eating in restaurants. Sick of KL food. Sick of speaking Semenanjung talk. Sick of getting called 'Kak'. Do I look so old meh??

Glad that even if I can't have that beautiful Ferrari, at least I have my precious BMW....

Ok fine. It's not exactly mine. Happy?

02 December 2005

City Of Angels... Hollywood, baby!

Ok. I actually went to KL with my mum and brother. But it's nice to lie once in a while, right?

I went there on the 29th. My mum wanted me to teman her shop. So bla bla bla, I'm lazy to write about how I got to KL. You all know the drill kan. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes to get there. By plane lah of course.

Nysa has arrived!

We stayed at JW Marriot and when I went out of the taxi... Behold! Parking smugly in front of the hotel's front door is a red Ferrari!!

I thought I died and was in heaven. Until my mum asked me to hurry up. Sigh. I couldn't get a picture of it cause a lot of people were present. But I would never forget the feeling that it gave me. It was actually my first sighting of a real Ferrari. A red one at that. I can still see the famous black horse on yellow background. I couldn't even breathe properly that time.

I'm no expert like Saiful but I think it was a Ferrari F50 GT?

See how beautiful it is? It was all shiny and looked new just like the picture above (Googled it). Sigh.

My dad greeted us at the entrance because he had a meeting earlier that day.

I wasn't even awed at being in a 5-star hotel. I notice the ceiling is nice though. With big chandeliers that can kill people below if it falls.

Our room was on the 22nd floor. It was pretty high up that you ears go pop. Or nearly, anway.

So, the view from the 22nd floor. Lucky that it was facing the centre of the city.

I was awed at the sight. I felt overwhelmed. So many tall buildings. How can people live here? It's suffocating. And when you breathe the city's air, you can smell the difference between it and the air back home. Like I said, suffocating.

I wanted to take picture of the room but couldn't fit everything. So I content myself with taking vain pictures of yours truly. Might as well make full use of the huge mirrors, right?

Wished I could take that bathrobe with me.

Went to Berjaya Times Square after that. Bought books and magazines at Borders. I can't remember the title of the books that I bought. I can't even find them right now! I wonder where they are...

Had fun at Cosmo's World Theme Park with my brother. Even bought pictures of us in the rollercoaster.

After dinner, we went back to our hotel room. Sleeppp... So tired.

KL night view

The next morning...

KL dilanda jerebu!!!

Ok, it's just foggy in the morning.

Late morning, we went to KLCC.

The Petronas Twin Tower

Ok, actually we went to Suria KLCC.

Suria KLCC

I didn't get to window shop there! My dad walked staight to Kinokuniya. Not that I'm complaining. Not really. But come on! I want to shop clothes damnit! O well. I didn't want to shop alone anyway. Bought more books. Memoirs of a Geisha by Anthony Golden and A Bit of Earth by a Singaporean author. I haven't start reading any of them since I haven't finish reading Star by Pamela Anderson. I also have another book I bought last week at Smart Bookstore in Sarawak Plaza, titled Passing Under Heaven. Now I have... hmmm... 4 or 5 books to read?

Oh! This is where Mariah Carey stayed 2 years ago when she came to Malaysia.

The Mandarin Oriental

A 6-star hotel. It stood majestically between Suria KLCC and KL Convention Centre.

And this is the KL Convention Centre. I couldn't get the whole building due to laziness and also the building itself is too long.

We went to Aquaria. It is situated inside this building. It's in the basement... of all places.

So to those of you who don't know what the heck is Aquaria, it is a world-class aquarium. It's better than the Langkawi one. I have plenty of pictures there so that'll be in Part II.
